The Way of Water is an epic story set in a fictional America 100 years after a cataclysmic event, which is reflected in the water quality. The movie follows an Expedition that goes to New Orleans to get clean water and prevent another catastrophe that could wipe out all humanity.

A group of strangers is drawn to a lush forest where they discover a city. Inside, they find themselves among the last descendants of humans living on Pandora – a lush, dangerous world ruled by a powerful matriarch. After seeking refuge from an attack, the survivors realize that their new home once belonged to the enemy – and that its inhabitants have become bloodthirsty predators out for revenge.
